In short
Most Deebot problems clear with basic checks: read the error in the Ecovacs Home app, clean the charging contacts and sensors, make sure the station's tanks and bag are fitted and filled, clear hair from brushes and the mop water outlets, and restart the robot. If it still fails, update the firmware and, as a last step, reset it following your model's manual before contacting Ecovacs support.

Ecovacs Deebot robots, from the N series to the T and X series with Omni stations, share many of the same parts and the same Ecovacs Home app. That means the common problems, and their fixes, are similar across models. This guide covers charging and docking, mop water, station faults, app and Wi-Fi problems and error messages. Exact error codes and button combinations vary between models and firmware, so always check the app message and your manual alongside it.
Start with the app message
The Ecovacs Home app usually shows a plain-language description of an error and often a suggested fix. The robot may also speak the error. Note the wording and any code before you start, because it narrows the cause quickly.
Many errors are temporary: the robot was lifted, a wheel dropped, a brush caught a cable. Clear the cause, put the robot on the floor and restart. If an error keeps coming back, work through the sections below.
Not charging or not docking
Wipe the metal charging contacts on the robot and the station with a dry cloth. Check the station is plugged in, the power light is on and the station sits on hard, level floor against a wall with clear space around it. A station on thick carpet or in a cramped corner is a common cause of failed docking.
If the battery will not hold a charge at all, it may be worn; Deebot batteries are replaceable on many models. Our general guides to robots not charging and won't dock go further.
Note:Use only the Ecovacs charger and station supplied for your model. Stop using any battery that swells or gets very hot.
Mop not getting water
If the mop stays dry, first check the clean-water tank in the station is filled and seated, and that water flow is not set to the lowest level in the app. On models with a water tank on the robot, check that tank and its outlets. Hard water can leave scale in small outlets; wipe them and run a mop cycle.
On Omni stations, a blocked filter in the clean-water tank or a kinked internal pipe can stop the refill. Remove the tank and check its filter. Use plain water or Ecovacs' own solution only. Our mop not dispensing water guide has a full checklist.
- 1
Fill and reseat the clean-water tank.
- 2
Check water flow in the app is above minimum.
- 3
Clean the tank filter and the robot's water outlets.
- 4
Run a mop wash cycle from the app.
- 5
Test mopping on a small hard-floor area.
Station and emptying faults
Omni station errors usually relate to tanks, the dust bag or blockages. Check that the dirty-water tank is empty and both tanks click home, the dust bag or bagless bin is fitted and not full, and the lid is closed. Clean the mop washing tray, where hair and grit collect.
If the station is not emptying the robot, hair in the bin's evacuation port is a frequent cause. See dock not emptying.
| Problem | First check |
|---|---|
| Not charging | Contacts, station power, placement |
| Mop dry | Clean tank, water flow, outlets |
| Station not emptying | Bag or bin, lid, port |
| Dirty-water tank error | Empty, rinse, reseat |
| Wheel or brush error | Hair and debris |
| Wi-Fi offline | 2.4 GHz network, router distance |
App, Wi-Fi and resets
Deebots generally need a 2.4 GHz network. If the robot shows offline, restart your router, move the station closer, and check that your router has not merged its bands under one name in a way the robot cannot join. See Wi-Fi not connecting.
Install firmware updates from the app; they often fix bugs in docking and mapping. As a last resort, restart the robot by switching it off and on, then reset network settings or the robot following the manual for your model. Our reset guide explains the difference between a restart and a full reset, which deletes maps.
Frequently asked questions
How do I reset my Ecovacs Deebot? Many models have a reset button under the top cover or a button combination in the manual. A full reset deletes maps and settings, so try a simple restart first.
Why is water not coming out of my Deebot mop? Usually an empty or badly seated tank, low water flow setting or blocked outlets. Clean and refill as above.
Why does my Deebot keep losing its map? A different starting point, moved station or firmware issue can cause it. Keep the station in one place and update firmware.
How do I contact Ecovacs in the UK? Use the support section of the Ecovacs UK website or the app's help menu, with your model and serial number ready.
