The Dreame D30 Ultra is for carpet-heavy homes that also want proper mopping on kitchen and bathroom floors. Two things set it apart in its listing: ultrasonic carpet recognition that changes how the robot behaves on rugs, and a base station rated for up to 100 days of automatic dust emptying. Strong suction and a floating rubber brush round off a package that leans towards pet owners and families.

Our take

Carpet handling

Suction is listed at 25,000 Pa, and the floating rubber brush is designed to detangle hair as it works. The robot uses ultrasonic sensing to recognise carpet, and the listing names several modes to choose from: mop, intensive carpet cleaning with vacuum, vacuum and mop, carpet avoidance and priority carpet cleaning.

Dreame does not give a mop lift height, so the carpet modes are how you keep rugs dry. Pick avoidance for deep pile and let the robot vacuum them in a separate pass.

Mops that reach further

DuoScrub uses two fast-rotating pads under pressure for stubborn marks, with dual-fibre pads that Dreame says minimise water marks. MopExtend RoboSwing pushes the pads out up to 4 cm to reach under beds, along edges and into tight corners. That is a larger extension than most pad robots quote.

Base and battery

The base empties the dust bin for up to 100 days. Its AceClean DryBoard uses 20 high-temperature nozzles to wash and drain the rotating mops in real time. The listing does not mention mop drying, unlike Dreame's L and X models. The 5,200 mAh battery is rated for up to 230 minutes of suction in standard mode, with 30% faster charging and off-peak support. The spec table oddly lists 110 V and 'wired', so check the UK version and plug before ordering.

D30 Ultra against close rivals

The Ecovacs Deebot T80S Omni has similar suction, uses a self-washing roller and lifts it by 15 mm on carpet. The Roborock Saros 10R sits lower at 8 cm with a 4 cm climbing chassis. The D30 Ultra counters with the longest auto-empty period among these and more carpet mode choices.

Verdict

Pick the D30 Ultra if your home has lots of carpet, pets that shed and a kitchen floor that needs real scrubbing, and you want to forget the dust bin for months. If you prefer a roller mop with a stated lift, the Ecovacs T80S Omni is the alternative. If obstacle avoidance is critical, note that this listing says little about it.
