This white version of the Dreame L40 Ultra Gen2 is a powerful all-rounder for homes with a mix of hard floors and rugs, and with pets that leave hair behind. The thing that sets it apart from most robot mops is the combination of 25,000 Pa suction with a brush and mop that both swing outwards. You get strong vacuuming and good edge reach in one machine, plus a base that does most of the cleaning up afterwards.

In its favour
- 25,000 Pa suction with 5 suction levels, the strongest figure alongside the T80S in this group of combos.
- Brush and mop both extend towards corners and under furniture, where fixed-pad robots usually leave a strip.
- Four carpet modes, including carpet avoidance, intensive carpet cleaning and 10 mm mop lifting, plus up to 231 minutes in quiet mode.
Good to know
- Automatic detergent dosing needs a separate refill module bought on its own, according to the listing.
- Only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi is supported, and the listing colour reads 'White Us', so confirm you are getting the UK version.
Our take
Vacuuming and carpet modes
Suction tops out at 25,000 Pa, with five levels to choose from. For rugs there are four modes: avoid carpets, boost suction, intensive carpet cleaning and a 10 mm mop lift. Low-pile rugs should be fine with the lift, while deep or shaggy ones are better handled with the avoid setting.
The foam filter and Smart Pathfinder navigation, with 3DAdapt obstacle avoidance for things like shoes, round out the core hardware.
Edges, corners and the base
Both the side brush and the DuoScrub mop extend to reach corners and under furniture, where the round body would otherwise leave a margin. The self-cleaning base washes the mop and dries it with warm air. One catch is spelled out in the listing: automatic cleaning solution dosing needs a refill module that is sold separately and then enabled in the app.
Battery, control and setup notes
Dreame quotes up to 231 minutes and 1,600 m² in quiet mode from a 5,200 mAh battery, with 30% faster charging and support for off-peak tariffs. The spec table lists 200 minutes. App and voice control cover Alexa, Siri and Google Home, but only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is supported. The listing shows 110 V and a US-style colour label, so confirm you are buying the UK version.
Compared with the T80S and Omni S1 Pro
The Ecovacs T80S Omni has almost identical suction at 24,800 Pa but swaps pads for a self-washing roller with a 15 mm lift. The eufy Omni S1 Pro also uses a roller and includes detergent dosing as standard. The L40 Ultra Gen2 suits buyers who prefer pads and want the extending arm for corners.
Verdict
Pick the L40 Ultra Gen2 if you want top-tier suction, extending pads and a self-cleaning base for a mixed home, and do not mind adding the refill module later. If a self-rinsing roller appeals more, the Ecovacs T80S Omni is the close rival. If you want detergent dosing included from day one, the eufy Omni S1 Pro has it built in.
