The Shark Matrix Plus AV2613WA is a vacuum first and a mop second, aimed at carpeted homes with pets that still have some hard floor to wipe. Its signature is Matrix Clean, a precise grid pattern that sends the robot over dirty patches several times. Shark claims 30% better carpet cleaning than a single-pass model. Add a bagless 60-day base, and it suits owners who want to avoid buying dust bags.

Our take

Matrix Clean and CleanEdge

Rather than relying on a quoted Pa number, Shark leans on cleaning pattern. Matrix Clean crosses the floor in a grid, and the 30% carpet gain is measured against its RV2610WD on level loop carpet with sand.

CleanEdge Detect uses blasts of air and corner recognition to push debris out of edges into the cleaning path, which Shark rates at 50% better edge cleaning compared with the feature turned off.

Sonic mopping, with limits

The mop vibrates to scrub hard floors 100 times a minute, and Matrix Mop in the app concentrates passes on stained zones. The box includes two reusable microfibre pads and a starter bottle of cleaning solution. The base does not wash or dry the pad, so expect to rinse pads by hand, and the listing does not say the mop lifts on carpet. Taking the pad off before vacuuming rugs is the safe habit.

Base, filter and brushroll

The XL base is bagless and holds up to 60 days of debris, with True HEPA filtration that Shark says traps 99.97% of dust and allergens down to 0.3 microns, sealed in the base. A self-cleaning brushroll is designed to resist hair wrap on carpet and hard floor. 360° LiDAR maps the home and avoids objects day or night. Battery life is listed at 110 minutes, with Recharge and Resume to finish bigger homes.

Matrix Plus against carpet specialists

The Ecovacs Deebot T80S Omni and Dreame D30 Ultra both publish suction around 25,000 Pa and have docks that wash their mops, but they come with far larger stations. The Shark's appeal is its reusable bin and simpler setup, so it suits buyers who mostly vacuum.

Verdict

Choose the Matrix Plus AV2613WA if carpets dominate, pets shed and you would rather empty a bagless base every couple of months than buy bags. If you mop a lot, a robot whose dock washes the pad, such as the Ecovacs Deebot T80S Omni, saves more effort. For carpet modes with ultrasonic detection, look at the Dreame D30 Ultra.
