The Dreame D20 Plus is aimed at busy families and pet owners who never want to empty a dust bin. Its base takes debris into a 5 L bag, and Dreame claims up to 150 days of hands-free cleaning, the longest interval of any self-emptying robot on this site. Add 13,000 Pa of suction and an anti-tangle DuoBrush for long hair and fur, and it is a low-effort vacuum with a basic mop on the side.

In its favour
- Bag lasts up to 150 days, so you rarely touch the dust.
- 13,000 Pa suction with the anti-tangle DuoBrush.
- Works with Alexa, Siri and Google Home, and supports multi-floor maps.
Good to know
- The dock does not wash or dry the mop, and the pad does not rotate.
- No obstacle avoidance sensor is described beyond anti-collision.
Our take
Self-emptying for five months
The 5 L bag is the main attraction. With up to 150 days between changes, many households will only touch it a few times a year. The robot's own dustbin holds 500 ml, which is also generous, so it can cover a large home before it heads back to empty. The base only empties the bin: it does not wash or dry a mop.
Suction and hair
Vormax suction is listed at 13,000 Pa, and the anti-tangle DuoBrush is designed to grab long hair and pet fur without wrapping, so you are not cutting hair off the roller.
That suction sits in the middle of Dreame's range, well below the D30 Ultra and L-series models, but comfortably above the D9 Max.
Mopping and navigation
Mopping happens at the same time as vacuuming from a 350 ml water tank. Dreame lists 32 water levels, which gives fine control on wood and tile, though the pad itself is static rather than rotating. Pathfinder technology builds editable maps with no-go zones and multi-floor support. The listing describes anti-collision sensing but no camera, so pick up cables and socks first. Battery life is listed at 180 minutes. Alexa, Siri and Google Home voice control are supported on a 2.4GHz network, and the spec table lists 110 V, so confirm the UK version.
D20 Plus against nearby picks
The Dreame D20 Air Plus offers more suction at 20,000 Pa with a 4 L bag for 120 days. The Xiaomi H40 has a smaller 90-day base and a five-step anti-tangle system. The D20 Plus wins on bag interval and water control.
Verdict
The D20 Plus suits families and pet owners who want the longest time between bag changes and a simple damp mop with fine water control. If stronger suction matters more, the Dreame D20 Air Plus is the closest step up. If you want the mop washed and dried for you, look at a full-station model such as the Dreame L40s Ultra.
