The Tapo RV30 Max Plus is a sensible pick for people who want a dependable, self-emptying robot for a flat or small house and who value support after the sale. TP-Link backs it with a 3-year manufacturer warranty, longer than most rivals mention, and lists a UK support hotline. It also runs quietly at a listed 52 dB, which makes daytime or evening cleaning easier when someone is working from home.

- The listing does not give the base station's dimensions, so check the space it needs.
Our take
Suction and floor types
Suction is listed at 5,300 Pa, aimed at dust, crumbs and pet hair on hard floors and low to medium pile carpet. That is modest beside many models here, so deep rugs are not its strength.
The robot can climb obstacles up to 22 mm, which covers most door thresholds, and it offers five suction levels plus carpet avoidance when mopping.
Navigation and maps
LiDAR combined with an IMU sensor maps the home quickly and works in the dark. Tapo uses a Mesh Grid pattern to reduce missed spots, and it can store 3+1 maps for different floors. In the app you can set no-go zones, virtual walls and per-room cleaning modes, as well as suction, water flow and cleaning frequency for each room. Tapo IQ adds furniture-focused cleaning, smart obstacle avoidance, anti-drop protection and recharge and resume.
The base and daily upkeep
The base empties dust and hair into a 3 L sealed bag with up to 95% debris removal, and Tapo says it lasts up to two months. That cuts down on contact with pet hair. Battery life is listed at 150 minutes, and a 15-minute fast charge is mentioned. Mopping uses an adjustable water flow, but the listing gives no details on the pad, and the base does not wash it, so plan to rinse it by hand. Base station dimensions are not given.
How it compares in small homes
The Xiaomi H40 offers 10,000 Pa and a 90-day bag, but runs for 100 minutes. The Lefant M2 Pro adds a bagless base and 6,000 Pa. The Tapo stands out for its quiet rating, threshold climbing and long warranty rather than suction.
Verdict
Choose the RV30 Max Plus if you live in a flat or small house with hard floors and low carpet, value quiet operation and want the reassurance of a 3-year warranty. If stronger suction for pet hair matters more, the Xiaomi H40 is the better match. If you dislike buying dust bags, the Lefant M2 Pro or Proscenic Q20Plus use bagless bases.
