The Shark Matrix RV2310AE is a straightforward self-emptying vacuum for households that do not need mopping and would rather not buy dust bags. It empties after each clean into a bagless base rated for 45 days. Shark's Matrix Clean grid pattern is the defining feature, crossing dirty areas several times. If you mainly vacuum carpets and want a reliable map-based robot from a known brand, it covers the basics without extras.

Our take
Matrix Clean in the app
Matrix Clean sends the robot over the floor in a precise grid with multiple passes. In the SharkClean app you can aim it at specific rooms or spots, and Shark claims 30% better cleaning on carpets and hard floors than a single pass of the same robot on level loop carpet with sand.
The app also handles schedules and on-demand area cleaning from anywhere.
Brushroll and suction
The self-cleaning brushroll digs into carpet and works directly on hardwood, and Shark says it is designed to pick up more hair without wrapping. That suits homes with pet hair, dust and dander. No suction figure in Pa is listed, only a description of powerful suction, so you cannot compare it numerically with rivals.
Base, filter and limits
The base is bagless and holds up to 45 days of debris, which is shorter than the 60 days on the other Shark bases on this site. Because it is bagless, you tip the bin out by hand rather than swapping a sealed bag, which some allergy sufferers may find dustier. The pre-motor filter is washable in cold water only. Runtime is not stated, though recharge and resume lets it finish larger homes. 360° LiDAR maps rooms and avoids objects day or night. The robot is listed at 10.6 cm tall, and there is no mop.
RV2310AE against similar bases
The Shark Matrix Plus AV2610WA adds sonic mopping, a HEPA base and 60 days of capacity. The Xiaomi H40 uses a 4 L bag lasting 90 days and quotes 10,000 Pa. The RV2310AE is the simplest Matrix model, which is exactly its appeal if you only ever vacuum and want fewer parts to look after.
Verdict
Choose the Matrix RV2310AE if you want grid-pattern vacuuming, a bagless base and nothing more, especially on carpets with pet hair. If you would like mopping and a longer base capacity, the Shark Matrix Plus AV2610WA is the step up. If you prefer sealed bags and a stated suction figure, the Xiaomi H40 is worth comparing.
