The T80S Omni suits homes where rugs, hard floors, pets and the odd spill all share the same rooms. Ecovacs pairs strong suction with a roller mop that washes itself while it scrubs, and a Triple Lift System that keeps the two jobs apart. When it senses liquid it raises the brushes and switches to mopping; on carpet it lifts the roller by up to 1.5 cm. That separation of wet and dry cleaning is what defines this robot.

In its favour

  • Self-washing OZMO roller scrubs with clean water rather than pushing dirty water around, per the maker.
  • Triple lift system raises the roller up to 15 mm on carpets and lifts brushes when liquid is detected.
  • Dock empties dust, washes the mop in hot water and air-dries at 60°C, with ZeroTangle 3.0 for hair.

Good to know

  • Robot height is about 9.7 cm, so check the clearance under low sofas and beds before buying.
  • Noise is listed at 61 dB, and the runtime figure comes from the spec table without a mode stated.

Our take

The OZMO roller

Rather than spinning pads, the T80S uses a roller that cleans itself in real time, so it scrubs with a rinsed surface instead of pushing dirty water around, according to Ecovacs. TruEdge extends the roller towards walls and furniture legs to clear the dust line along skirting. The dock then washes the roller in hot water and dries it with 60°C air, and Ecovacs claims around 150 days of near maintenance-free use.

Suction and hair

Suction is listed at 24,800 Pa for carpets and hard floors in a single pass. ZeroTangle 3.0 is designed to stop pet hair wrapping around the brush, keeping airflow strong. That is one generation behind the ZeroTangle 4.0 named on the T90 Pro Omni.

The listing puts noise at 61 dB and battery life at 200 minutes, without stating which mode that runtime applies to.

Height, thresholds and setup

The robot is listed at 3.8 inches, about 9.7 cm, so it will pass under many beds and sofas but not the lowest ones, where the 8 cm Saros models fit better. Ecovacs says it climbs thresholds up to 20 mm. AIVI 3D AI visually identifies cables, toys and furniture legs and adjusts its path. App control covers schedules, suction levels and no-go zones, on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only. The box includes a spare roller mop and dust bag, and the spec table lists 110 V, so check the UK version.

T80S or T90 Pro Omni?

The T90 Pro Omni steps up to 30,000 Pa, a pressurised OZMO Roller 3.0 and ZeroTangle 4.0, with the same 15 mm lift. The Dreame L40 Ultra Gen2 matches the T80S on suction but uses extending pads instead of a roller.

Verdict

The T80S Omni is a strong all-rounder for mixed floors with pets and spills, provided your lowest furniture clears about 10 cm. If you want the newest roller and anti-tangle hardware, step up to the Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni. If you prefer pads with an extending arm, the Dreame L40 Ultra Gen2 is the closest alternative.
