The Xiaomi X20 Pro suits people who want the convenience of an all-in-one dock without stepping up to Xiaomi's 20,000 Pa flagships. Its base empties dust, washes the mop pads and dries them with hot air, and the robot runs up to 160 minutes in Standard mode. The detail that sets it apart for flats and evening runs is a named Silent suction setting in the app.

Our take
The base station and what it saves you
Xiaomi lists automatic mop washing, hot-air drying and automatic dust collection, with the dust disposed of roughly once every 75 days. A 4 L clean water tank supplies the robot for about 120 m² of actual mopping in one go, according to the listing, so a typical flat or small house can be mopped without topping up mid-run. The cleaning tray detaches for rinsing, which is the one regular job left to you.
Filtration on the robot itself is HEPA, per the spec table. The listing does not say whether the dust bag in the base is sealed or how large it is in litres.
Suction modes and noise
Peak suction is 7,000 Pa, with four speeds in the app: Silent, Standard, Strong and Turbo. That gives you a simple way to run a quieter clean when someone is working from home or asleep, and to push harder on rugs when nobody is in. Xiaomi does not publish a decibel figure for any of the four modes, and the noise of the dock while it empties is not stated either.
Carpets, laminate and obstacles
An ultrasonic sensor detects carpet and raises the mop pads by 10 mm, and Carpet Boost mode turns up suction while the pads are lifted. Xiaomi is open about the limits: for rugs thicker than 8 mm, or shaggy and fringed ones, it recommends switching to carpet avoidance mode. For laminate or vinyl, the hot-air drying in the base helps, as a damp pad is not left sitting in the dock between runs.
Obstacle sensing combines 120° wide-angle structured light with an edge sensor, aimed at low objects and skirting board distance. The 5,200 mAh battery is rated for up to 160 minutes in Standard mode, while the spec table lists 150 minutes.
Against the X20+ and Roborock Qrevo 5AE
Compared with the Xiaomi X20+, the Pro gets 7,000 Pa instead of 6,000 Pa, hot-air drying where the X20+ lists plain air drying, a stated 10 mm pad lift and a longer runtime. The Roborock Qrevo 5AE brings 12,000 Pa, 30 water flow levels and FlexiArm pads that reach corners, which suits buyers who mop laminate often and want fine water control.
Verdict
The X20 Pro is a good fit for flats and mid-sized homes with mostly hard floors and a few low rugs, especially if you like the idea of a Silent mode for daytime runs. Pick the Roborock Qrevo 5AE for finer water control and stronger suction, or the Xiaomi 5 Pro if you want 80°C washing and an AI camera.
